Anodyne Secures Funding from Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada to Decarbonize Essential Farm Chemicals
Iain Evans

Burnaby, BC | April 7, 2026 — Anodyne is proud to announce it will receive up to $1,236,310 in funding from Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) under its AgriScience Program. This investment is dedicated to scaling the local, low-carbon production of formates and hydrogen peroxide—two pillars of modern agricultural productivity and food safety.
As Canada’s farmers face increasing cost and environmental pressures, Anodyne’s proprietary bioelectric process offers a path forward. By using renewable electricity to convert CO₂ and water into useful agrichemicals, Anodyne is effectively turning greenhouse gases into tools for farmers.
Decarbonizing the Agricultural Supply Chain
Traditionally, chemicals like peroxide and formate are produced in massive, centralized facilities and shipped across the globe, racking up significant costs and emissions. Anodyne’s approach enables decentralized, modular production—turning agricultural sector emissions into on-farm products.
Formates: A critical building block for animal feed preservatives and miticides.
Peroxide: Used extensively for water treatment, livestock hygiene, and eco-friendly pest control, with none of the toxic byproducts of conventional manufacturing.
“The future of farming isn’t just about what we grow in the soil; it’s about how we produce the inputs that make farming possible,” said Iain Evans, CEO of Anodyne. “With AAFC’s support, we are proving that the transition to net-zero can actually make the supply chain more resilient and cost-effective for Canadian producers.”
Impact for Canadian Producers
AAFC funding will accelerate the deployment of Anodyne’s pilot-scale reactors, moving the technology from the lab directly to the field—strengthening agrichemical supply security, promoting circular carbon use, and lowering the scope 3 emissions of Canadian agricultural exports.
