Natural Resources Canada Awards $2M to Carbon Utilization Innovator Anodyne

Anodyne Chemistries Inc. announced today that it has been awarded $2,000,000 by Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) to scale up its innovative bioelectric process to produce valuable chemicals.

The funding is part of a larger investment in Canadian-made carbon management technologies, unveiled by the Honourable Tim Hodgson, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, in Burnaby, British Columbia.

Anodyne was founded in British Columbia in 2021 and has grown to employ nearly 25 people. Its primary business is the manufacturing of chemicals from CO₂.

The government stated that projects like Anodyne’s “support Canada’s ambitions of becoming a clean energy superpower—demonstrating how energy innovation can enhance energy security and unlock the full potential of our workers, businesses and resources.”
